Vicki Mortimer - Set and Costume Design
Trained at the Slade School of Art, Vicki Mortimer has a career in theatre and opera, working extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal National Theatre, The Almeida Theatre, The Young Vic, The Donmar Warehouse.
Theatre designs include A Woman Killed with Kindness, The Dybbuk, Ghosts, The Phoenician Women, Beckett Shorts, Uncle Vanya, The Seagull (RSC); Rutherford and Son, Fair Ladies at a Game of Poem Cards, Jumpers, The Three Sisters, Ivanov, The House of Bernarda Alba, Paul (NT); The Wild Duck and The Real Thing (Donmar); Closer by Patrick Marber (NT, West End, Broadway); 1953 and Heartbreak House (Almeida); costumes for Nights at the Circus (Lyric Hammersmith); costumes for Fiddler on the Roof, Nine, set and costumes for The Real Thing and Jumpers (Broadway); Boy Gets Girl, Mountain Language, Ashes to Ashes, My Zinc Bed, The Country (Royal Court).
Her designs for opera include Jennufa for Welsh National Opera, The Turn of the Screw for Scottish Opera at The Tramway in Glasgow and David Leveaux's production of Salome for ENO. With Leveaux, she has worked extensively in Japan, where she is the Head of Design for Theatre Project Tokyo.
Vicki Mortimer has collaborated with Wayne McGregor on Millenarium, Sulphur 16, Aeon (Wayne McGregor | Random Dance Company); Qualia (Royal Ballet, Choreography Wayne McGregor) and Skindex (NDT, Choreography Wayne McGregor).
