Patrick Burnier - Set and Costume Design

Patrick Burnier studied Technical Drawing applied to the stage at ISTS, Avignon, France, following a Postgraduate degree in Theatre Design and an Intensive course in Lighting and Design at L'Envolee Theatre, Perpignan.

He designed The Brothers Size, directed by Bijan Sheibani (touring and Young Vic, London); Reverence, a site specific show co-designed with collaborator Anna Jones (London Bridge Station Vaults, Southwark Playhouse); and a puppet theatre show, Le Vaillant Petit Tailleur (touring Switzerland).

He is the Resident Designer at the MEN (Musée d’Ethnographie de Neuchâtel) where he created the exhibitions Figure d’Angola and Figures de l’artifice (MEN, Neuchâtel) in collaboration with Anna Jones. He also designed a site specific dance piece, Shore, choreographed by Cathy Marston (Bamburgh castle); In The Jungle Of The Cities directed by Bill Gaskill, (Rada, London); Concert en 5 actes choreographed by Cisco Aznar (Théâtre des Terreaux, Switzerland); The Bacchaes (Théâtre du Moulin-Neuf, Switzerland); and The Balcony (Théâtre de l’Athénée, Paris).

Patrick Burnier's original set design for Wayne McGregor | Random Dance's production of ENTITY won the Linbury Biennial Prize in 2005. ENTITY is currently on tour.
