It is intended for use in the classroom by secondary school teachers, but will be valuable for students, practitioners and teachers of almost any age and level.
Wayne McGregor Honorary Doctor of Science degree at Plymouth University
16 September 2013
Today Wayne McGregor was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from Plymouth University. He first met collaborators from Plymouth at the Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit in the Experimental Psychology Department at the University of Cambridge, where he spent a year as a Research Fellow. Following this he established the research arm of Wayne McGregor | Random Dance, R-Research, specifically to explore new understandings of choreographic practice by bringing knowledge of dance into conjunction with cognitive science, biology and technology research, social science and philosophy.
The University has been working with Wayne and the company for several years, and recently published a paper in the journal Dance Research, focusing on the collaboration.
An exhibition celebrating the past decade of this collaborative research, Thinking with the Body, opens at Wellcome Collection this week.
