Wayne McGregor hosts First Sundance Institute Theatre Lab in East Africa
Sundance Institute is preparing to launch its inaugural Sundance Institute Theatre Lab in East Africa, taking place July 9-29, 2010 on the island of Manda off the coast of Kenya. The Lab will provide artists with guidance in their creative development. Participants will share training and mentoring techniques.
Wayne McGregor has provided his Lamu studio, Akili, as rehearsal space for the artists. Since its creation in 2006, Akili has played host to over 60 international artists from across the artistic fields.

Wayne McGregor receives award for Excellence in International Dance by the International Theatre Institute

Wayne McGregor wins Benois de la Danse
Wayne McGregor has won the prestigious Benois de la Danse, otherwise known as the Oscar of Dance; he received Best Choreography for his production of Infra for The Royal Ballet. The awards were announced in Moscow on June 4th.
