Telenoia - 2000
Texts
The Sir Norman Foster designed Jubilee Line station at Canary Wharf offered the post-modern, urban context for this highly individual dance work featuring 18 boys and young men drawn from across London alongside the male dancers from Wayne McGregor | Random Dance and with live music from zoviet*france.
The 4 performances were a culmination of the London Boys Project 2000, a community dance project offering workshops to 300 boys from across 4 London boroughs: Camden, Southwark, Barking and Dagenham and Tower Hamlets. From these workshops the participants in the performance project were recruited. These 18 participants aged 12 - 21 worked intensively with Wayne McGregor | Random Dance for two weeks to create material for the piece using a range of stimuli including computer animation, video and martial arts.
